STAINED GLASS REPAIRS AND PAINTING ON GLASS
Rita had received a lot of positive feedback for her stained glass repairs. She has experience repairing broken etched glass pieces and restoring broken hand-painted stained glass, which often includes human figures, faces or lettering on glass.
She recently undertook a large repair job together with Cate Watkinson where they both had to restore original Mike Davis' stained glass artworks (Beach and Shipyards) in Monkseaton Metro station in Whitley Bay.
Rita demonstrates technical precision whilst recreating stained glass artwork. Employing both traditional and contemporary stained glass making techniques where necessary.

CREATIVE GLASS WORKSHOPS
Rita also offer creative glass workshops where you can learn about the art of glass making and create your own masterpiece. Rita's workshops cater to beginners as well as advanced learners.
She has successfully facilitated adult fused glass, adult stained glass and family fused glass workshops at Durham Cathedral as part of the Gaia Late Events in 2023.
Furthermore, she has been providing services as a freelance glass artist for both Equal Arts and Search Newcastle, where she has delivered multiple stained glass and fused glass workshops to numerous community groups in various venues, such as Shipley Art Gallery, Gateshead, Hatton Gallery in Newcastle and Newcastle Central Library.
Rita has also delivered fused glass, painting on glass, copperfoil, and stained glass making workshops and courses in the National Glass Centre, Sunderland and Customs House, South Shields.
CUSTOMISED STAINED GLASS FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SPACES
Rita offers stained glass design and manufacture services for sacred spaces as well as private interiors. She often works closely with her clients to create bespoke pieces that perfectly match their requirements.
One of the most unique and exciting stained glass projects Rita was involved in, was where she had to cast glass strips and specially make moulds for kiln formed glass. These custom made glass strips were in triangular prism form, allowing direct sunlight to break through the glass and create rainbows. The bespoke glass pieces were specially made for Cate Watkinson who successfully incorporated them into her stained glass window at St. Mary's Parish Church, Whickham, Gateshead.
Rita is a glass artist who has a wide range of skills including kiln formed glass. She has experience in glass fusing, slumping, mould making and glass casting. Rita has a set of skills in architectural glass such as painting on glass, glass cutting, leading, soldering and cementing. Also, she can etch glass using a sandblaster.
This particular set of skills enables Rita to creativity cater to various artistic tastes and preferences, offering one-of-a-kind glass art pieces.
